01

Situation

A newly founded international student placement and educational services company entered the market with an ambitious growth plan and two distinct audiences to win over at once: prospective students choosing where and how to study abroad, and partner universities deciding which agencies to trust with recruitment. As a genuine startup, the company had no existing marketing infrastructure of any kind. No brand awareness, no lead generation engine, no content, and no channels already running. Everything had to be built from a blank page while the business was simultaneously trying to generate its first real enrollments.

02

Problems

  • No brand presence: prospective students and university partners had no reason to know or trust the company, competing from day one against established student placement agencies with years of reputation behind them.

  • No lead generation engine: there was no consistent, repeatable mechanism bringing inquiries into a pipeline; any early enrollments would have to come from scattered, one-off effort rather than a system designed to keep producing them.

  • No content or channel infrastructure: no website content built for search, no social presence, no nurture sequence, nothing a prospective student or university partner could find or engage with before a conversation even started.

  • No way to measure what was working: with nothing running yet, there was also no visibility into which channels or messages would actually perform, meaning any activity launched without a measurement framework risked scaling the wrong thing before anyone noticed.

03

Strategy

Rather than launching a single channel and iterating reactively, the marketing function was designed as an integrated system from day one, built to serve two audiences and multiple channels in parallel rather than relying on any one lever to carry the business alone. Content and SEO were built to feed long-term organic visibility. Paid search captured high-intent demand the moment it appeared. Webinars gave prospective students a live, trust-building touchpoint mid-funnel. Email nurtured that interest through to a decision. Social media carried brand presence and testimonials to build the credibility a brand-new company didn't yet have. Every channel was planned to reinforce the others rather than operate in isolation, with university partners treated as a second, parallel audience running alongside the student-facing funnel rather than an afterthought.

04

Marketing System

  • Google Ads: capturing high-intent search demand from students actively researching study-abroad options at the exact moment of decision.

  • SEO and content: building a long-term organic foundation through content that answered the real questions prospective students were searching for.

  • Webinars: giving prospective students a live, direct channel to get questions answered and build trust before committing.

  • Email: nurturing inquiries from first contact through to enrollment decision with a structured sequence rather than one-off follow-up.

  • Social media: building brand presence and credibility from a standing start, including testimonials and student stories.

  • A shared content calendar and consistent brand messaging: tying all five channels together, so a prospective student encountering the brand on any channel met the same voice and promise.

05

KPIs

  • Lead volume and cost per lead: to understand not just how many inquiries each channel produced but at what cost, so budget could shift toward what was actually working.

  • Website traffic and ad efficiency: giving visibility into which channels were driving qualified visits versus which were driving cost without return.

  • Webinar attendance and conversion: since webinars served as a key mid-funnel trust indicator, not just an attendance number.

  • Email engagement: tracking whether the nurture sequence was actually moving inquiries toward a decision rather than just landing in an inbox.

  • Enrollment rate: the ultimate measure tying every channel back to the number that actually mattered to the business.

06

Outcome

The result was a functioning, multi-channel marketing system built from nothing, delivering results on both sides of the business the company needed to win: a growing base of enrolled students moving through a real, repeatable pipeline, and stronger, more credible relationships with partner universities who could now see a company with genuine marketing infrastructure and measurable results behind it, not just a founder's pitch. What started as a blank page became a marketing function the business could keep building on.
